Alina walked down the street of Diagon Alley, looking around at the many stores that canvased the sides of it. She wasn't really sure where she was going, but she didn't really care. She had no plans, and no need to be at the store right now. Business wasn't busy enough for her to be there as well helping them out.
With a sigh, Alina came up to Madame Malkin's store when an idea hit her. She walked in and asked madame if she carried any wedding dresses. She stared at Alina for a minute or so then told her yes. Alina asked to try them on, and Madame Malkin allowed her to do so.
Hours later, Alina stared at herself in the mirror, looking at the wedding dress she had on. She stared at herself, her hands moving slowly down the material. Alina was in love with the dress, and she really wanted to show George. Although it was against some unwritten rule for the groom to see the bride in her dress before the wedding, Alina used the Madame Malkin's owl to send a note to George, asking him to come so she could show him.

The day was smooth so when Alina asked to go out, George didn't say no. With just Fred, he was able to keep the shop. Anyway, people were more busy with school things than pranks for now. He expected they'd come back during the week or the next to get enough pranks to bring to Hogwarts.
He started playing with a bouncing ball, one of the few muggle stuff they were selling, to chase away boredom. It wasn't noon yet for his break and Fred went in the backroom to get some items. As he got more and more bored he noticed an owl willing to enter. He frowned and out of curiosity opened the door to let the bird come in. He took the note and it flew away. He recognized immediately Alina's handwriting. She was asking him to come to Madame Malkin's shop. He frowned, finding it weird. Why she couldn't go ask herself, it wasn't like Malkins was so far away...
Fred arrived just as he pondered. He let him alone in the shop, saying he'd be there in a moment and went to Malkins to see what Alina wanted to show him. As he walked, he tried to think about what it could be. After all, she was selling dresses and robes... how important could that be! He found out as he saw her.
He stood there, eyes widened as he looked at her. She was wearing a wedding dress. He seemed shocked by it. She was gorgeous in it, no doubt about it, but in the same time, he never imagined she could be thinking about marriage. She hadn't even finished school yet! "You... want to get married?" he was only able to say.

Alina turned quickly when she heard his voice, frowning lightly when she heard his question. "What? You don't like it?" she asked softly, looking down. She really loved the dress. It wasn't too girly for her, and it accented her body in a nice enough way. In her eyes, there wasn't much to accent but the store owner complimented her enough to believe it, for now at least.
Raising her head, Alina sighed gently. "I got bored so I decided to try on dresses for after I graduate, when we get married." she said, running her hands down the side of the dress again, now feeling like a complete and utter fool. "I guess I had a bad idea then." she continued, her voice cracking.
Alina jumped off the small stool she was on, and went into the dressing room as quickly as she could. She stripped out of the dress and put her own clothes back on, then sat on the bench in there, crying softly.

George was slightly shocked when she asked him if he didn't like the dress. He shook his head, coming a little closer. "It's not that but, it's a wedding dress..." he said hesitantly. Somehow he seemed good at saying the exact thing he shouldn't. And it seemed he did it again when she climbed down the stool to change herself. He felt bad now that he heard her saying it was for after she graduated.
Hesitating some, he finally approached to the dressing room. He was about to get in but stopped. What if she was not dressed back? How would the owner take it? So he just stood next to it. "I thought you meant now." he said as an excuse.

Alina looked towards the door of the dressing room stall thing she was in, sighing lightly. She stood up and walked over to the door, opening it and looking up at him. Her cheeks were covered with tear trails. "You told my parents that you were going to marry me after I graduated so I could stay with you. I thought you meant we really were, but I guess I was wrong." she said, leaving the dress behind as she ran out the door. She really wanted to buy that dress, but she had told the owner previously that she would have to put it on layaway until she was able to afford it. Who knew when that would be?
Heading into the twins store, Alina ran up the stairs, not even stopping as Fred asked what was wrong. She went into her own room and slammed the door shut, locking it with the lock and spells. She threw herself on her bed and cried heavily into her pillow.

Gorge felt terrible. He was about to argue that he meant it but she ran away. He looked at the dress than Alina. Thinking Alina was far more important, he chased after her. He saw her running into their shop and so followed her. A luck it was calm so George could tell Fred it wasn't the moment, knowing his brother would understand something bad happened again.
He went upstairs and looked where she could have went. He saw their bedroom door was closed he tried to open it but nothing did it, not even spells. He knocked, nearly punched the door. "Alina, open up. Please." he said as he kept trying to force the door to open.

Alina knew he was going to be coming soon, just not that soon. She sat up on the bed and walked over to the door, removing the locks she had placed on it. She sighed gently and opened it so only she could peak out and he couldn't push himself in. "George, you've really confused me. I don't know what to expect now. I mean, first you say you were going to marry me, and now you're acting surprised by it. It's all very confusing." she said softly, looking down.
She opened the door further and walked to him, slowly wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head against his chest. "I don't like being confused." she whispered softly, pressing her face into his stomach.

George clearly expressed how sorry he was with his face. He didn't mean for ehr to be confused. He wrapped his arms around her small body, bringing ehr closer to him as he hugged her. "Of course I want to marry you. But when I saw you beaming in that dress, I thought you expected su to marry before the end of summer or something. I just... I guess I freaked out. But that doesn't mean I don't want to marry you."

She pulled back, looking up at him. "No, but I wanted to find a dress that my heart desired. I mean, I didn't want to have a small amount to choose from. Anyways, finding that one that I did this long before we did get married helps since now I can use the entire school year to gather enough money so I can actually afford to buy it." she said softly, pulling him into her room and shutting the door with her foot, looking up at him.

George listened to her as he walked him to the room. "You know I can also pay a certain amount. And maybe your parents if you ask?" he said since the way she talked she had to buy it alone. "That makes me think I'll have to warn my mother. She won't like it, she already feels like Bill is going too fast and that he's too young to marry someone..."

She looked up at him. "What do you want me to do then, hmm? Put all my thoughts and dreams on hold until I've graduated?" she asked, walking over to the bed and sitting down, crossing her arms over her chest. "It's not like I can suddenly turn on and off my thoughts George."

George sighed, sitting next to her. "I know. It's just... you go out to wander around Diagon Alley and the next thing I know you found a dress and are wearing it. I mean, I told your parents I'd marry you after you graduate but it was more to let them make me see you. I'm your boyfriend how could I love you if I can't see you?"

She looked up at him, then down at the ring he had given her. She had yet to have really taken it off unless she was taking a shower. She pulled it off her finger and walked over to him, putting into his hand. "Then I don't deserve this yet." she said, turning and walking over to the window, staring out it.

He frowned when she gave the ring back. He looked at it. He had thought it was so not a shiny, beautiful enough ring for her but she told him she just loved it. And now she was giving it back. He stood up quickly and came behind her. "Than when?" he asked, extending his hand still holding the ring.

She sighed lightly, looking down at the ring. "Instead of being forced to propose to me, why don't you come up with something really romantic" she said, turning around and facing him, looking up at him with a slight smile.
